As far as the estate knows, this original painting was commissioned for the cover of Michael Moorcock's Book #3 in "The Roads Between the Worlds" series - though as you can see from the  published cover by Haberfield, from Mayflower 1966, a different Haberfield painting was used in that edition.  This is a major example of Haberfield's visionary style, Hand-painted in gouache on artboard, 17" x 13"
