This is an original painting created to illustrate an article in a Scholastics publication "Scholastic Scope" from October 18-25, 2004 - a guided reading for teachers whose students were reading descriptive fiction. Collins' "Gregor the Overlander" series of novels were published by Scholastic, and the first novel in the series was a top choice for teachers!   Handpainted in acrylics on unstretched canvas, this is a large and colorful painting that carries the caption ""when Gregor meets Luxa for the first time, Luxa is playing a game with bats and balls -- but it's nothing like baseball" The painting is 24.5” wide by 16” high and is signed by Carol bottom center.   One of Carol's best and brightest, with gorgeous details and...bats (but not related to baseball!)
