Carol Heyer: The Iron Angel

Lovers of detective stories know the author Edward D. Hoch very well: ever since his first story was published in 1955, he's been a major author in the genre, excelling in what we call "fairplay detective stories" - where readers get a chance to read all the clues correctly and come to the correct conclusion before the sleuth!  Hoch's sleuths are varied, and one - like the Gypsy Michael Vlado – add a touch of exotic lore to their investigations. "The Iron Angel" was Hoch's first collection of Vlado's adventures, published by Crippen & Landru, 2016 (I show the cover for reference) It's an intriguing image, beautifully Handpainted in acrylics on unstretched canvas, 23.5" x 16" and signed by Heyer.
