Fans of the wonderfully weird will love this cover art for William Hope Hodgson's collection of stories, published by Panther, 1973 (cover shown for reference) Carnaki was a strange sleuth, and this fantastic imagery captures the strangeness of it all - including a depiction of "The Hog" - one of Hodgson's most memorably weird stories.  Hand-painted in gouache on illustration board, image 17.75" x 13"  with publication and artist's details on the reverse.  Minor damage to bottom left corner (wear and tear from 50 years of storage!) but that does not detract from the image!
