This is an original painting created for the cover of the post-apocalyptic novel by Brian Aldiss, for Panther Science Fiction,  1974 (I show the published cover for reference)  There is no mistaking this for any other artist's work; Haberfield's uncanny talent for producing such memorably unsettling imagery is exactly what he's known for!  It's an amazing work of art, painted in gouache on artboard, 16" x 12.75" Note, there's a small scuff mark above his left eyebrow, see photo but this does not detract from the visual effect, which is tremendous!
