Richard Bober: Mad Hatter Study #1 - Fantastic Alice

An original artwork, a study of the "Mad Hatter" character created in advance of completing the final cover illustration for "Fantastic Alice" (Ace, 1996) a collection of stories based on Alice in Wonderland (see published cover for reference).  Richard was inspired to produce several character studies for this commission; this one is in oil and acrylic on heavy rag watercolor paper, 15"x 11"signed bottom right and comes framed.  See photos.  We have two such studies to offer from this private collection, each tremendously appealing.
