Richard Bober: Phantom of the Opera Study

For a while in the late 1990s and into the new century, Richard was obsessed with the "greats" of movie stardom, especially his favorite horror movies.  He did portraits of all his faves, and Lon Chaney was certainly among them.  This is an original portrait study of that silent screen great, inspired by his portrait shown in the movie poster, for "Phantom of the Opera" in 1924 (I show the poster for reference) Handpainted in oil on rag paper 15" x 11.25" and signed  bottom left.  Fantastic study of this all-time great!
