Richard Bober: Portrait of Mark Antony

For a while in the late 1990s and into the new century, Richard was obsessed with the "greats" of movie stardom, and his favorite movies and actors - One of them was the memorable "Cleopatra" from 1963 starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.   This is an original portrait study of Burton as Mark Antony;  moody, sensitive and introspective, in contrast with his colorful full Roman soldier regalia  - which makes the study all the more handsome and touching.  handpainted in oil on rag paper, 15" x 10.5" and signed bottom right.  Gorgeous surface texture, gold embellishments, see detailed photo.
